Have you ever stopped to ask what is the purpose of education?
So often it seems that we educate our children so they'll be able to make a living ... get a job ... have a career. Earning a living is a necessary part of life!
However, I've recently began to think more about the purpose of education and wonder if it's not a case of 'putting the cart before the horse'.
Should we educate children so they can get a job or should we educate children so they have the skills to live and the passion to learn? Then, as confident individuals who have skills and zeal for life, they can earn a living.
Surely this must be the purpose of education ... to give our children the tools to embrace and engage in life in a way that brings them, and people around them, joy.
I hope and pray that our children will enjoy their lives as they help others, become positive contributors to society, following their interests and passions and so much more.
So what do you think? What's the real purpose of education for your family? Feel free to leave a comment on this post or on our facebook page. We'd love to hear from you!
