It's true. Childhood is about seeing the world from different perspectives.
If you've been to a park lately, the chances are that you've seen a child hanging upside down and looking at the world from a different perspective.
This is one of the wonders of childhood: exploring the world from all angles. It's a wonderfully strange sensation and often enormously fun! Go on. You remember giggling about an upside-down world when you were a child, don't you?
Hmmm ... now that I think about it, it's been a while (okay ... a life-time) since I viewed the world upside down. Maybe that's what I need to do to get a fresh perspective on things! Suppose I could try it during our next playground outing! Then again, maybe I'll just stick to the swing, slide and flying fox!
By the way, it's worth keeping in mind the fact that children view the world from a different perspective when displaying artwork, pictures, photos, posters, etc.
A helpful tip
Every now and then, crouch down to the height of your children and see what the environment looks like.
A picture hung at the right height for an adult to view comfortably may not be in the optimal position for a child's viewing.
A life changing tip
It is especially important to take into consideration the perspective of children when talking with children. Adults standing upright can be very imposing. After all, adults are generally much taller than children!
By crouching down, you're able to look children in the eyes and effective communication is made much easier!
Whether you're hanging upside down this week or walking tall, have a great week!
